Jess: The Benetton Group

The Benetton Study and Research Foundation is located in Treviso Italy.
It was established in 1987.
The Benetton Group is present in one hundred and twenty countries around the world. Its core business is clothing; the group has a strong Italian character whose style, quality and passion are visibly seen in its brands, the casual United Colors of Benetton, fashion oriented Sisley, Playlife leisurewear and Killer Loop streetwear.

Fabrica is Benetton's communication research centre, created in 1994 from Benetton's cultural heritage. Fabrica is a building by Japanese architect Tadao Ando and is situated outside Treviso in Northern Italy.

Its name comes from the Latin word meaning workshop.
Fabrica experiments new forms of communication, following two parallel guidelines:
- Hands-on approach to training and interactivity,
- Both the projects and cultural identity, whose plurality is guaranteed by the mix of young people from countries with different languages, cultures and attitudes.

In 1994 the campaign was very diversified : a mosaic of a thousand photographs of people and the same message : Aids . A Pair of bloodied trousers and shirt, a young Bosnian sniper's clothes, killed in combat. A white hand holding out the relay baton to a black hand.
